Camp America

2 Week International Summer Camps for Teens from Overseas in the United States

We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our international camp programs or better said what we now call Camp America. Over the summer of 2019 Kids Digital U will offer three summer programs each over a period of two weeks. Students will attend our traditional 3D Summer Tech Camp, ranked the #1 3D summer tech program in the Greater Boston area (the most competitive academic market in the United States) the last two years in a row (2018 & 2017), during the day and experience all that Boston, MA’s American culture has to offer in the evenings and over one very fun weekend. Evening events include first class trips to see the legendary Boston Red Sox, the Museum of Science and the New England Aquarium. Over the weekend students have the choice to either travel to Lake Winnipesaukee for an amazing day of water sport activities or visit the beautiful beaches of Cape Cod. We are unaware of any like summer program for teenagers in the United States. Be sure to watch our video below.

Red Sox Website
The New England Aquarium
One evening after a private reservation via Boston Duck Tours we will visit the New England Aquarium...generally considered one of the best of its kind in the world. Located in downtown Boston, kids have a blast. To learn more about this amazing experience, visit their website at www.neaq.com.
Visit NEAQ
The Beautiful Beaches of Cap Cod Massachusettse
Over a fun filled weekend, students either enjoy a day of water sports on Lake Winnipesaukee or enjoy the magnificent beaches of Cape Code. Take a minute to Google Truro, MA beaches to see what we mean.
Boston's Museum of Science
Boston's Museum of Science is one of the most well-known science institutions on the planet. There is simply too much to do and explore to list here. Last year we took a group of 12 students through the new Giant Mirror Maze. It was regarded as quite an accomplishment. Your kids will love it.
Visit MOS Website
Museum of Fine Arts
Like the Museum of Science, one cannot visit Boston without visiting one of the top 50 art museums in the world. The Museum first opened in 1876 and has been at its current location since the year 1909. Again we see to everything. Your child does not have to lift a finger.

Day 1 Saturday: Students arrive and are picked up at Logan Airport. We will meet your child/children as they exit customs and drive them to the Needham Sheraton in Needham, MA (about 8 miles outside of Boston, MA). We have found, in general, that students attending our program from overseas need 36 hours from the time they arrive to recover, for lack of a better word, from the long flight and get acclimated to the change in time. Obviously students attending from Europe are less fatigued than students arriving from Asia. Hence we keep activities extremely light on the day they arrive. Of course some students arrive early and some late in the day.

Day 2 Sunday: Students may of course sleep in as late as they would like but we encourage all students to attend our orientation at 12:00 Noontime. We provide lunch as we introduce our staff and students introduce each other. This usually lasts just over an hour at which time students are welcome to enjoy the amenities of the hotel including a visit to the gym and/or pool. We meet again for a mandatory 4:00 PM group meeting as we dive deeper into each student’s goals and objectives…whatever they might be. This is a great chance for students to get to know one another. It has been our experience that after dinner students are tired and thus we allow them to spend their time as they see fit. For those parents who are traveling with their children we more than encourage you to join us.

Day 3 Monday: For those students traveling without their parents, our staff arrives at the hotel by about 7:30 AM. Since meals are included students have whatever they want for breakfast with each other and/or our staff. We depart the hotel at 8:30 AM and head to our animation studios right down the street (not a 5 minute drive). Our 3D Summer Tech Camp starts at 9 AM sharp and concludes at 5 PM. Lunch, snacks and drinks are provided. For an overview of the day’s activities at our 3D Summer Tech Camp please visit our camp page.

Our 3D Summer Tech Camp ends at 5:00 PM daily. It has been our experience that our traditional students very much want to join our students from overseas on the trip back to the hotel. We drive all students attending the Boston Red Sox game back to the hotel where we have a simple dinner. We depart the hotel via a plush limo party bus at 6:15 PM to head to Boston’s legendary Fenway Park to watch the Boston Red Sox baseball game. Fenway Park is one of the most well-known sports venues in the world. Founded in the year 1912, Fenway Park is now the oldest baseball stadium in Major League Baseball. Many people in Boston consider Fenway Park a shrine. Simply put it is one of the most well-known sports venues on the planet. Whether the Red Sox win or lose, our evening at Fenway Park will, without a doubt, provide one of the best insights into American sports culture available in the country. We love baseball in the United States. We have reserved a premium suite for the Boston Red Sox games on Monday June 24, 2019 against the Chicago White Sox and Tuesday August 6, 2019 against the Kansas City Royals. (NOTE: Our calendar above notes we go to the Red Sox game on the first Monday. For the games this year not on Monday we will swap the activity with the night in question). All students enrolled from abroad in our 3D Summer Tech Camp will attend the game with their American classmates. We provide a limo party bus ride to and from the game and plenty of food and drinks while there. Students do not need to lift a finger. The game starts at 7:10 PM. We’ve reserved a premium suite for each class. We provide plenty of snacks and drinks at the game. The games usually end between 9:20 & 9:40 PM. After the game students are transported back to the hotel.

NOTE: Every morning and day Monday through Friday is essentially the same except for the weekend. Hence we will outline evening and weekend activities from here. Be sure to visit our camps page as during the day students use truly cutting-edge interactive, three dimensional and virtual/mixed/augmented reality technologies, unavailable at any like program for kids in the United States, to supplement the traditional learning experience.

Day 4 Tuesday: After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. At about 6:45/7:00 PM students will be driven via limo party bus to visit Boston’s historic Fanuel Hall (aka Quincy Market). This is a great trip to see American culture as we listen to local musicians and artists and do a little shopping. We will of course get ice cream for everyone who wants it. This is a fun yet relaxed evening. Boston’s Quincy Market is about as Americana as it gets. Kids love it.

Day 5 Wednesday: After class on Wednesday we take students to the Needham Pool & Racquet Club (“NPRC”) for a pool party and pizza dinner. We encourage you to visit the NPRC’s website here (as we don’t have any pictures that are not copyrighted). It is a beautiful private pool and tennis club located about 6 miles from our animation studio (7 miles from the hotel). Students have a blast swimming, racing, playing basketball and just goofing off. It is a great bonding experience and a relaxing night. We return to the hotel at about 9:15 PM.

Day 6 Thursday: After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. At bout 7:00 PM we will head into Boston via the famous limo party bus to board the Boston Sunset Cruise ship for spectacular views of Boston and a stunning sunset. We dock back at the waterfront at about 9:00 PM and head back to the hotel for the evening.

Day 7 Friday: After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. It has been our experience that students prefer their Friday evening to be simple and quiet. Hence we limit Friday evening to hotel activities or a trip to see a movie at the Legacy Place Cinemas about 5 miles away. We expect about half of the students to go to the theater and the other half to watch a movie as a group in someone’s hotel room. Again though it’s a simple night it is a great bonding experience.

Day 8 & 9 Saturday & Sunday: Students sleep in a little both weekend days. We meet between 8:30 & 9:00 AM for a group breakfast to finalize the day’s plans. Students may either go to the beaches of Cape Cod’s Truro to enjoy the ocean & a whale watch or go to New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee for a day of water sports & other activities. We provide lunch & dinner and plenty of snacks and drinks all day long. We are very careful to be certain the kids are adequately hydrated all day long. We leave the hotel at 9:00 AM.

Cape Cod: After our tip to the beach we take students on a whale watching tour out of Provincetown, MA. After the whale watching, at about 4:30 PM, we go to one of the legendary restaurants of Cape Cod. We generally poll the students as to which restaurant they prefer. We are usually done with dinner by about 6:30 PM at which time we head back to the Needham Sheraton. It is about a 2 hour drive each way.

Lake Winnipesaukee (New Hampshire): We have arranged for an amazing day of fresh water boating, water sports and other activities. Lake Winnipesaukee is one of the most spectacular lakes in all of New England. We have chartered a boat, captain and assistants to take us on a tour of the lake. The views of the nearby mountains is so beautiful it is awe-inspiring. Water sports include water skiing and water boarding. At about 4:15 PM we head in to enjoy the attractions of Weirs Beach including bumper cars, an arcade and a number of other fun activities for kids. We have dinner and the best ice cream in the world before departing at about 6:30 PM for the trip back to the Needham Sheraton. It is about a 2 hour drive each way.

NOTE: It has been our experience that students spend one weekend day at Cape Cod and one day at Lake Winnipesaukee. f students are not interested in either the beaches of Cape Cod or Lake Winnipesaukee then they may invest the weekend at the NPRC.

Day 10 Monday: Students return to our 3D Summer Tech Camp for an incredible second week of our program. After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. We keep activities light on Monday night after the busy weekend. Students either enjoy the amenities of the hotel and/or go to the movies again.

Day 11 Tuesday: After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. At abut 6:45 PM we depart for Boston’s legendary Museum of Science. Like the Boston Red Sox and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston’s Museum of Science is one of the most well-known science institutions in the world today. KIDS OF ALL AGES (AND PARENTS) LOVE IT!!! There is simply too much to do and learn at the Museum of Science. To learn more about the things your kids will see visit their website at www.mos.org. We just took a private group through the new Giant Mirror Maze. It was an experience unlike any other in New England. We will leave the Museum of Science at about 9:00 PM for the 20 minute drive back to the hotel.

Day 12 Wednesday: After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. We will depart the hotel at about 6:30 PM for Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is, like the Red Sox, one of the most well-known & recognized art museums in the world. It is one of the top 50 art museums on the planet today as ranked by number of visits. The Museum first opened in the year 1876 and moved to its current Boston location in the year 1909. The Museum contains almost 500,000 pieces of art. There are simply too many to list here. To learn more we encourage you to visit www.mfa.org. We have arranged for private guided tours for our students. Since there will be multiple and likely different exhibits during each visit, we will poll the students to see which interests them the most. We will depart the Museum at about 9:00 PM for the trip back to the hotel.

Day 13 Thursday: We save the best for last. After class students are transported back to the hotel for dinner and a little rest, workout or swim at the pool. We leave the hotel at about 6:45 PM for a trip to the New England Aquarium. The New England Aquarium, like all of the culture of Boston, is one of the best in the country. We never get tired of the New England Aquarium. To learn more about specific things and experiences it has to offer, visit their website at www.neaq.org. The New England Aquarium is an amazing experience but generally our visits are done within 90 to 120 minutes. We will conclude the evening with a private group reservation via Boston Duck Tour to see all of the traditional historic sights of Boston. To learn more about our private tour visit www.bostonducktours.com.

Day 14 Friday: Your children’s experience ends with a bang. All students are invited for an end of program party at the hotel. This is without a doubt the highlight of the trip. We rent a ballroom at the hotel for a first class dinner and party. We bring all of the event systems provided via our Event Services (www.newtonanimations.com/events). Kids make plenty of media for permanent keepsakes of their stay. The tears are plentiful as the kids say good-bye to the new friends. We will take plenty of pictures and post them on our website for your family and friends to enjoy from home.
